AUTUMN DAY RETREAT

Remembering: Returning to the Wisdom Within
Date: Sunday, October 19, 2025
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Location: Sproat Lake Community Hall, Alberni Valley, BC

We’re living in times that often pull us in many directions. Despite our best efforts, the demands of daily life and the wider world can leave us feeling rushed and disconnected. Returning to practises that ground and centre us, that reconnect us with the magick and mystery of our soul and of the planet we live on can be sweet medicine. Creating space to nourish body-mind-spirit supports us in living a more aligned life.

With this in heart, I am delighted to offer a full day Yin Yoga retreat this autumn. This grounding, nurturing day is designed to help us to slow down, reconnect with both the season’s wisdom and our own inner knowing.

​No rush. Just rest and be.

Together, we’ll tend to the yin within, making space to withdraw, recenter, and honour the body’s innate intelligence and intuitive voice. Stillness and a comfortable environment of silence will be encouraged to help facilitate deeper rest and release, to remember and connect with our truer nature, resilience and inspiration.

Some things that this day will include are:
  • yin yoga and movement practices
  • guided meditations
  • community with like minded souls
  • lunch provided by The Broken Bow restaurant, 100% gluten free and using locally sourced ingredients
  • meditative forest walk
  • tea and snacks
  • journalling/inquiry work

What to bring:
  • yoga mat, blanket for savasana, and any preferred props such as bolster or blocks
  • water bottle
  • journal and pen
  • comfortable waterproof footwear and layers for forest walk

This retreat is an opportunity to step away from the busyness of daily life and nourish yourself with a day of replenishment, presence, and inner listening.

Yin Yoga is a practice that emphasizes long-held passive stretches that target the deeper connective tissues, including fascia, ligaments and and is of increasing value to practice as we age. By emphasizing long held passive stretches, yin yoga will help to stretch and lengthen these tissues while having a meditative quality. Yin yoga is based on Taoist understanding of Qi (or energy) and through these poses we are opening up blockages and releasing energy to flow freely. All poses are done in positions on the floor, and blocks and bolsters are liberally used and encouraged.
