YOGA NIDRA Classes
DEEPLY RELAXING GUIDED MEDITATION

Join us in this healing class where you will rest comfortably on your back, using blankets and bolsters to fully release and relax for about 45 minutes. During this time you will simply listen to my voice as I guide you into a state of deep relaxation while you remain awake and aware as you fully release tension in the body, and the mind.
Yoga Nidra provides you with a simple and effortless way to simply observe sensations, thoughts and emotions without being completely drawn into them and affected by them, instead remaining in a peaceful and relaxed state.
The point of Yoga Nidra is to provide us with an experience of our innate peaceful stillness, and to help us to begin to let go of automatic habits that no longer serve us. The experience teaches us that we are more than our thoughts and emotions, and that there is at all times a deep stillness with us that in truth is even closer to us than our breath.

I will be sharing a practice that I’ve integrated and use all the time, and is a daily source of power and inspiration for me. This practice has helped me to get grounded, revitalize my energy field, quiet my mind, and connect with my deeper intuitive knowing.
This meditation is not hard to do, nor is it elaborate. It’s simple and easy, yet very foundational and effective.

About my yoga background:
Yoga has weaved its way in and out of my life since my early teens. After a back injury in my 30's I turned to yoga to help heal my body and in doing so I found that it also deeply nourished my mind and spirit. Finally, in 2011 I followed my long held dream and embarked on my training to become certified as a Yoga Teacher.
Drawing from a training in classical Hatha (Red Door Yoga), I integrate various styles of yoga with my main passion being with Insight Yin Yoga, learning much from Carly Forest.
My experience with Jin Shin Do® Acupressure and Reiki also influence my understanding of the body and it’s energy systems and I find that Yin Yoga is a superb practice to support healing and awakening for the body, mind and emotions.

I believe that our body archives all experiences that we weren’t able to safely process at the time, and yoga is a wonderful way to help release that held tension, stress and congested energy.
